Swedish body massage is a full body massage using a range of techniques to promote overall wellbeing. It includes head massage and pressure points on the face. The techniques include: • Effleurage – gentle sweeping strokes over the skin • Petrissage – kneading • Vibration – tapping or cupping technique • Hacking – karate style 'chops' The benefits include: • Aids sleep • Lessens muscle and headache tension • Inproves circulation • Improves range of movement in your muscles and joints • Helps with feelings of stress and anxiety • Supports and aids the immune system • Aids in toxin removal • Increases energy • Improves your mood and well-being due to the release of hormones and chemicals PLEASE NOTE: If you have any of the following you will not be suitable for massage at this time; ·Recent operations (last 3 months) ·Unstable blood pressure ·Flu/viral infection/fever ·Pregnancy (first 12 weeks or 6 weeks post natal) ·Heart attack within the last 6 months ·Contagious or infectious diseases (fungal nail, athletes foot, verruca, ringworm, gangrene, impetigo, scabies, chicken pox, mumps) ·Severe eczema or psoriasis ·Bruising, cuts, grazes, skin rashes, sunburn ·Blood clots ·Conditions requiring surgery ·Under the influence of recreational drugs or alcohol ·Recent fractures (last 3 months) If you have any of the following we would need to see a Doctor’s note before treatment can go ahead; ·Thrombosis ·Cancer ·Diabetes ·Medication for serious conditions ·Heart conditions ·Epilepsy ·Any disfunction of the nervous system; Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease
